The second in Giant Digital's Web3 series for charities, Helen Olszowlska, MD of Seashell Collective and writer for Charity Digital, shares inspiration from the third sector with examples of charities who are already embracing the world of Web3.
Her presentation highlights some of the innovative work being carried out by forward-thinking charities using future digital technologies, including NFTs, gaming for good, cryptocurrencies and blockchain, demonstrating the opportunities that exist for charitable organisations today.
Helen's talk demonstrates that charities across the UK and beyond are beginning to explore Web3 technologies as part of their charity digital strategy and growth. Whilst she provides some great examples, this is also balanced with some discussion around the possible challenges and considerations of exploring new technologies.
Other presentations in this Web3 series are available on our Giant Digital channel. Look out for our quarterly events for more charity digital inspiration!
Helen had a 15 year career in the charity sector. Her last in-house role was UK Associate Director for Development at Human Rights Watch.
For the past three years she has worked as a digital marketing consultant for charities and purpose-led businesses as Managing Director of Seashell Collective and as a freelance writer for Charity Digital.
Since working on projects to help initiate the technology and rights work at Human Rights Watch, Helen has had an interest in digital inclusion and the role of non-profits in developing and sustaining a healthy infosphere. She has written several articles on these topics for Charity Digital, explaining new developments and how charities are responding to them.
