Giant Digital announces carbon neutral status

Giant Digital is committed to creating a better digital world. However, working with third sector organisations, many of which deal with issues related to climate change, Giant recognised the importance of extending this commitment beyond the realms of digital.

A charity specialist digital agency, Giant is proud to announce it has achieved carbon neutral status. Working closely with its client ClimateCare to achieve this; Giant will continue to monitor and reduce its carbon footprint throughout 2020.

Being a service-based organisation, with 50% of its team working remotely, it was relatively simple to both measure and offset the amount of carbon used. This largely fell into three areas; company travel, such as public transport and staff commute; our server usage and running its Hartley Wintney office.

Giant enlisted the support of ClimateCare due to its approach to turn climate responsibilities into positive outcomes. Using its carbon calculator, Giant calculated, in 2019, it produced 18.58  tonnes of carbon which has been offset through ClimateCare’s climate neutral and offset programmes.

Moving forward, Giant will implement programmes to reduce carbon throughout 2020 with a view to become not only carbon neutral, but carbon negative.

Vimal Patel, Founder at Giant Digital comments: “Reducing our carbon footprint is part of a bigger focus on our impact on the environment. We’ll be rolling out new initiatives in coming months to make Giant a greener, more conscious organisation. ”
